Our Mission
The Chicago Workers Collaborative works toward lasting systemic change that advances the dignity and rights of every worker through education, leadership development, organizing, and direct service.
We envision thriving, just, and equitable workplaces where empowered workers are paid living wages and work in safe environments with career advancement opportunities.
We are committed to securing that future by building mass movement solidarity that guarantees the rights of all by fighting for the rights of the most vulnerable.
We do this by organizing temp workers across Chicagoland and equipping them with the tools and support they need to promote community health, build community wealth, and develop civic power. That means:
-
Supporting workers in the community as well as the workplace, building trust by delivering results on the issues that impact workers every day.
-
Providing robust legal services to help workers gain legal work permits and assist them in the path toward citizenship and civic engagement.
-
Mobilizing to advocate for policy improvements that better protect worker when the law fails to adequately protect them.
